Aesop's is an absolute gem. My boyfriend and I love this place. Whenever we both have an afternoon off we'll always order from here. The food is top notch. High quality deliciousness for incredibly low pricing. It's seriously ridiculous and we are completely addicted. Not only that, but the people that work there are amazing and have made it a point to remember who we are which is seriously awesome. Love this place!

Went here on a recommendation from a friend, he said their meats are amazing and that he often buys it by the lb to take with him to different gatherings. Husband and I decided to try it out and go there for lunch. I ordered the cubano which sounded awesome. I think it could have been a 5 star sandwich, but the bread was not good at all. I have a feeling it didn't get toasted as much as it needed to, they were busy and in a hurry. Meat also could have been 5 stars, had it been heated completely. When I order something that is supposed to be hot, I want it hot. Sides were pretty good. Husband ordered the brisket, again, bread and meat had the same issue. I would almost prefer a different roll or bun for these, ciabatta is awesome...but just doesn't fit the sandwiches.

I've only ordered from them once through Bite Squad, but I'm curious to go back. Got the Aesop burger, which comes stuffed with mushrooms & onions and topped with cheddar on a nice roll, possibly potato. Ordered it medium, trying to avoid 50 Shades of Grey- and wound up with Pretty in Pink (OK the lame movie puns are finished). It was a 1/2 lb. of juicy, perfectly cooked ground beef and it was damned good. The side of chips came in a sealed bag- perfect for later. I also had the ribs and they were tender yet slightly dry, but holy crap these things had a lot of meat, like country-style ribs kinda meat, although I'm pretty sure they weren't. I loved the sauce, too. Went for the Chipotle flavor and it had a nice, medium heat that was strong on the front end but didn't linger. It also had a subtle vinegar flavor that made it feel clean and vibrant and is served on the side to highlight the nice dry rub on the ribs. Good stuff! The sides of baked beans and potato salad were average but serviceable. I'll edit/update this review as I gain more experience with their menu, but it's a new and exciting option for me!

Fantastic food. Limited hours but worth it to make it over there during the work day.

Aesop's hours might be pretty limited and the healthiest thing on the menu is probably the coleslaw, but they make some relatively tasty comfort food and one item that will definitely keep me coming back - their ribs. The ribs are smoked in-house, fall-off-the-bone tender with a good dry rub (sauce also available on the side) - oh, and they're under $8 for a half rack and two sides, which is a steal (and they're even cheaper on Thursdays). I thought that sounded suspiciously cheap at first, but I'd take Aesop's ribs over their much more lauded neighbor about a mile to the South any day. The rest of the menu is comprised of various sandwiches, burgers and other rotating short-order items. The Porker and the pastrami are both satisfying, while the Cuban sandwich isn't bad, but leaves a bit to be desired (American cheese?). Portion sizes, in true Midwestern fashion, are very generous and prices are very affordable. There are also a couple of deli cases full of pre-made dinners, salads, pizzas, etc. As mentioned, their hours are limited (11 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday), so getting here frequently can be a challenge if you don't live or work in the area, but that's probably not a bad thing unless you have the metabolism of a hummingbird on speed. Still worth it for those ribs though...

If you're looking for a cheap, quick and friendly spot to stop for lunch (they even have some outdoor tables setup) Aesops is worth a try. I stopped by for lunch and tried the cubano and the smoked turkey sandwich. The cubano was pretty good but the turkey was really dry and not very easy to choke down. They should definitely have some sauce with it or have it in some tasty juices. Most sandwiches seem to come on tasty ciabatta bread along with a side of (good) coleslaw and baked beans. Even if you don't get your order to go it still comes in a styrofoam clam-shell box which I'm not a fan of; wish they look into a more environmentally friendly option. I also tried a piece of their carrot cake which I'm not sure if they made it in house or not but it was very average. One thing that was way above average however, was their friendly service. They have that down. Everyone there was incredibly friendly especially the nice lady taking orders and working the register. Since the prices are so reasonable and because everyone is so friendly I'll be back to try a couple other things out.

Aesop's has done the catering for Oakdale Gun Club's picnic for many years now and always does a perfect job. They provide grilled steaks, bbq chicken and cold salads. They have a trailer that comes decked out for the grilling and serving. Every year I look forward to this event and Aesop's never fails to impress. Great catering!!

I was very impressed with my first takeout order. Got the Rueben, Comes with a bag of chips plus I ordered Potato Salad and a Thai Noodle salad. I"m not Jewish so I'm no expert on Reubens but this seemed pretty authentic to me. Loved it. The sides, each only $1.78, were shockingly full sized and together, would be a meal in themselves. Have had better potato salad but the thai noodle salad was outstanding. The noodles were thicker Italian-American style but still, not your typical watered down white guy version of Thai flavor. This was spicy and had big chunks of Chicken! Sweet Geezy I will order that again. Service was quick for me because I ordered online from a Living Social deal. Lunch was either $1 or $5 for me can't remember which. Place was packed at lunchtime though so be warned if you plan to order at the counter during the lunch rush. Only one thing prevents this place from being 5 Stars - and I hope they're reading - Way too much salt. I'm neither afraid of a little sodium nor one of those salt-lick loving dipshits who salt their food without tasting it first. Fact is, there was simply too much salt in everything. The flavors were not enhanced but slightly obscured by the heavy shaker-ing. I'll be sure to put a special note next time for no added salt and hopefully that will help. Definitely will be back to this fast and friendly option.

Note to self: don't order something if you don't know what it is. Stopped in for lunch today and ordered the Aesop's burger. Turned out to be a good sized burger stuffed with onions and mushrooms. I am not a fan of mushrooms, but was able to pick most of them out. The burger probably took about 15 minutes for them to make. My dining companions were done with their meals before the burger came out. The place is tiny, gets crowded, and their ordering system is not the most efficient. If I were to go again, I would get "the Porker" sandwich which they are known for and that I have had in the past.

Aesop's rules. Everything I've had there has been fantastic. Okay, that's a tiny fib, but a juicy lucy is a hard thing to get right. Especially because that's not their specialty. Usually, my mom and I split a Reuben. It's so damn tasty. I am drooling right now. Like, not a drip of drool, but oodles--the whole Pavlov's dog shebang and everything. The lady that is always working must be part of the family that owns the joint. She's so sweet and personable. Very Minnesotan hospitality! She has let me sample the porker before and it's excellent. So yummy and decadent! The soup is great too. I really want to try the frozen pizzas too. They look good. In short: -The restaurant is kind of run-down, but to me that shows they would rather give their food a little more time than fixing up the place. -The service is always incredible and the employees really care. -The Reuben and porker are awesome. So is basically everything else. -It's a pretty cheap lunch, too. The sandwiches are giant!

My brother lives in a house on this block and I've stopped by here when I'm at his place. They are only open from 11-6 on Monday through Friday, but it isn't a bad place to stop in for lunch if you work nearby. Even if you work in the government buildings on the North side of Downtown St. Paul, you could make it in for lunch. It's probably an 8 minute drive from University and Lafayette. However, they do a lot of deliveries. I've never had them delivered, so I can't comment on the service. They make all kinds of deli type sandwiches, but their specialty is BBQ sandwiches. They barbecue really good ribs and a pulled pork sandwich, among other things. Their sandwiches are going to run you about $6 a piece. You can also buy uncooked and seasoned BBQ to bring home and cook yourself. I've brought home a rack of ribs before and they are awesome. I don't think that they are as good as Big Daddy's, but still highly recommended. Much better hours than Big Daddy's as well. It's mainly a take out place. I think they have 2-3 tables inside and 3 tables outside, weather permitting.

I had never heard of them until the Crowd Cut special promotion - then a friend of mine and I decided to give them a try for dinner. I was shocked by their good pricing. Our lip smackingly great/tender falling off the bone ribs, potatoes, and french bread cost just $6.95 and then a slice of cheescake brought the total to under $10. They had a variety of large "salads" for just $3.25, and take-n-bake pizza's for $5something. The lady that took our order was super nice/friendly and made me want to come back again. So I quick logged back into Crowd Cut and bought a couple more gift certificates for lunch again in the future :) I'm definitely checking them out again - and recommend them to someone looking for great tasting food. Though it's not a traditional "sit and order" type of restaurant, they do have a dining area and outdoor seating.

I generally bop into Aesop's Table if I am in Frog town during the lunch hour, I absolutely love their rueben sandwiches! They are stuffed with corned beef and the bread is to die for. I had them cater my daughters wedding and I have to say I could not have been more pleased with the food and the service.Everything was BBQ to perfection. There was so much food the bride and groom will be eating the left overs for weeks to come. If you are having a family picnic or a wedding I highly recommend Aesop,s for the best meal at the best cost in Saint Paul. They made this very special day one to remember!

Not impressed. This place is for delivery and pick up only. There are 3-4 very small tables where 2-3 people per table could sit. Arrived at 11:30 am for lunch. Did not leave with food until 12:10 pm. They were busy, but seemed to get orders confused. I have no idea what was in the middle of the Juicy Lucy, but it was not cheese. It was gray (same color as the hamburger), slimy and looked like it was meat fat. It tasted gross. I was able to scoop it out and finish the burger. A friend also had a Juicy Lucy with the same experience. And, to top it all off, a third friend went with us and she ended up with a long blond hair in her food that could not have been hers. Based on my experience, I will not be returning and I strongly suggest others not to go.

I had crowdcut coupons, but I'm considering going back here even though I've run out. The price is good, the food is good. With my $10 voucher, I usually got a juicy lucy (which comes with two sides), some deviled eggs, and a piece of cake. That's a good deal even without a coupon. The only bad thing is it's a little far away for me...

Aesop's rules indeed, I totally agree. Tony from Aesop's Table has been catering our annual Law firm's picnic for 16 years. We really, really like and enjoy the cucumber salad, macaroni and cheese and the hot German Potato Salad, it is one of the best recipe this German Native has tasted. Our picnic favorites are the Triple Threat, Burgers, Brats and Dogs, Beef and Chicken Kabobs, my personal favorite was the Pig Roast as well. I always order extra Hot Dogs since there is always a big demand. We have also tried a number of items here at the firm for different occaisons. The Chef Carved Roast Beef, Beef and Pork Combo Roast, Lasagna, Baked Ziti and the Chicken Wild Rice Casserole. Difficult to say what the favorite is. It is obvious quality and price are a top priority for the Aesop's Team. Thank you for the great food and service.

Don't overlook or drive-by this wonderful Deli or their Dinner Restaurant. It is well worth the trip to the Dale and Front area in Saint Paul. Their Appetizers, Sandwiches and Entrees are impossible to beat especially for the price. They also cater dinners/box lunches etc. The Ribs and Pulled Pork are especially great! They also have a dinner restaurant in the B-Dale Club at 2100 N. Dale Street Roseville. My Favorite is the All you Can Eat Menu; Ribs which are awesome, chicken, The Porker, Tennessee Tacos (Great), Porker Wraps, Tacos, Chicken Wings, Burgers, Fries, Baked beans, Mac & Cheese and even Cole Slaw. They have great choices on their main menu even a $3.95 basket menu, and there is even a bar. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Try it you like it! Believe me..... You will like it!
